A thick slice of Raspberry Pi.

My Raspberry Pi has just arrived. After spotting a deal on an online retailer, I quickly bought it up. All that remains is to start my setup.

I'm planning to run Raspbian on it, to start on my new project. I'll need some things before I begin, though...

- a USB soundcard

- a cheap 3.5mm microphone

The project I'll be undertaking is the AlexaPi (https://github.com/alexa-pi/AlexaPi)!

I've always wanted a way to control various things handsfree. Using IFTT, some really interesting things become possible with the Alexa web service. I can play music, for example. I might even be able to wire the AlexaPi to send a WOL packet to my server!

Next post will be about the setup of this delicate-looking thing.
